- Cyber Essentials is a self-assessment certification against 5 key controls
- Cyber Essentials Plus uses the same key control framework but includes an independent technical audit for added assurance.
Both provide the same core protections, but ‘Plus’ offers greater credibility and assurance.
A Cyber Essentials certification is valid for 12 months. Organisations must renew annually to maintain certification.
Costs vary based on the size of the organisation and whether you choose the basic or Plus certification. Cyber Essentials starts from £499 + VAT, for micro organisations of less than 10 people, while Cyber Essentials Plus costs more due to the external audit.
